Allowances

Reenactors often wish to expand their impressions from the field to the barracks. Below is a an extract from AR 615-40 Enlisted Personnel: Clothing and Equipment, 1 February 1945, which provides proper quantities in which items should be acquired and represented. Also of value are the proper nomenclatures for the items themselves. It should be noted that even within the U.S. Army's manuals, names can vary slightly and should therefore not be taken as the be-all, know-all answer. Still, reenactors often use commonly accepted collectors terms which are out of place for the 1940s.
